Subject: Quick view: any support for PDFs?

Do any of the releases have Quick view support for PDFs? I would like to click a PDF on one side and see its contents on the other side. Thanks!

Thank you so much, Gral, this was very helpful!

I'm not familiar with many of these terms. Is "Lister" the name for the Quick View window? Also, what does "Sumatra" mean?

I went through all of those links, plus many others. Several were no longer working, but I did manage to find and download these files:

• activepdfview_1.0.zip
• sLister 1.1.2.zip
• wdx_xpdfsearch.zip
• wlx_sumatrapdf_0.8.1.zip
• wlx_uLister_4.0.0.zip

Which do you feel is the simplest and best for viewing PDF files in the Quick View window?

Thanks again for your help. Smile

Lister is internal preview window which you can call with the F3 key.
Lister and QuickView share the same viewer plugins - lister plugins.
You can search and download TC plugins on official site http://www.ghisler.com/plugins.htm
and on http://www.totalcmd.net/ - probably largest unofficial site for TC plugins and addons.
For PDFs try also pdfview.wlx - https://www.mp3tag.de/tc.html
There is no one "best" solution, try what suits your needs.
As for me Sumatra works well, but i don't work with PDFs so much.
In most cases i use Sumatra standalone version.

Oh, I know what Lister is now, thanks.

I'm looking specifically for Quick View plugins. So I'll check the ones that don't have "Lister" in the name.

For what it's worth, I tried out every one, and decided that I like wlx_sumatrapdf_0.8.1 the best. So that's what I'll be using.

Thanks again, Gral. Appreciate your help. Smile

[x]?

symbol for a checked CheckBox.

Make sense?

At least if you take a look into
Configuration > Options > Refresh >

[x] Refresh when files are create, deleted and renamed and
[x] Put added files at the END of the file list (default: sorted)

Thank you for the information. I never knew history.txt even existed and I have been using TC since version 5! However, it is quite densely written and I'm not sure what string I would have used to search to find my information.

Maybe cm_EditPath is what you should use - assigning it to a hotkey of your own choice.

Stefan2, Yes, it makes sense. Thanks.
However, only one box is checked: the first one. The box which puts the new files at the end is NOT checked, and has never been checked, as far as I can tell. So, why do the newly added files show up at the end of the earlier files? Why don't the new files get put in alphabetical order with the old ones?

Gentlemen, I notice that the file names which appear as appended, seem to have a period after the first word which is slightly smaller than the period after the first word in the group which are in alphabetic order. Example: The names of all the files start with "Misc.". The Alpha group look like this: Misc. XYZ where XYZ is a distinct name. The appended group look almost the same, except the period seems (to my old eyes) to be a smaller dot. (If I knew the hex code for the latter period, it might be different than the former period. But I haven't explored that yet.) If they are different, that would explain why the Appended group are separated from the Alpha group. I need an editor which can display Hex characters.
Could this be the answer?

I recommend HxD.

Certainly. I guess it's the only explanation left (that is, until someone finds another valid explanation Wink).

Quick view is basically Lister put over the other panel. Nothing more, nothing less. No need to look for "Quick View plugins".

I've tried client side of WLAN Plugin (v. 2.03 beta 9) on BlackBerry Q10 which has Android 4.2.2 layer and didn't encounter crashes.
Please post more details of your crash: detailed steps to reproduce the crash, text of error messages if such appear, TC for Android version, Android device model and its Android root state.

Or did you mean some Android FS-plugin for desktop TC? Anyway, more details on crash required.

Please give me more details - how to reproduce the crash? It should work on Android 1.5 and newer.
