I can confirm that download AND upload of sleeper.txt in the background does not work!
Here is my log for download of sleepet.txt - first in the background (F5-F2) and then in the foreground - and finally download of sleper.txt (one e) in the background. My comments are preceeded with ....
As you kan see there is no activity at all when trying download of sleeper.txt in the background - the background download dialog does open briefly and then closes again.
